The short version fits in one sentence.
Gramvy collects nothing about you. No account, no email, no name, no location, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party code. We have no server that stores anything about you, because we did not build one.
What you log, the foods you add, your target, your weigh-ins and your settings are stored by the app on your iPhone and, if you use it, your Apple Watch. They are included in your device's own iCloud backup if you have backups turned on. We cannot read any of it. Delete the app, or use Erase everything in Settings, and it is gone.
If you turn it on, Gramvy writes the protein you log to Apple Health as dietary protein, and reads your latest body weight to suggest a target and draw your weight trend. Both are separate permissions that you can change at any time in the Health app. What Gramvy reads from Health stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. Gramvy never reads anything else from Health.
When you scan a barcode, Gramvy sends that barcode number, and nothing else, to Open Food Facts, a free and open food database, to look up the product. Like any website, their server sees the internet address the request comes from; it does not learn who you are from us. Their handling is described in their privacy policy. The product is then saved on your phone, so scanning it again does not send anything.
When you photograph a nutrition label, the text is read on your iPhone. The photo is used once, never stored by Gramvy, and never uploaded — not to us, not to Apple's cloud.
Gramvy only sends notifications if you allow them, and both kinds are scheduled on your phone, not sent from a server. If you turn on the evening reminder, you get one at the time you choose on days you have not reached your goal. If you start a free trial, you get one reminder two days before it ends.
The image you can share when you reach your goal is drawn on your phone. It shows your protein for the day, the date and your week, and goes only where you choose to send it.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data. We hold none, so there is nothing to hand over or delete — but if you want that confirmed in writing, write to us and you will get it.
If a future version of Gramvy ever collects anything at all, this page is updated before that version ships, with the change written in plain language at the top.
